About

We are the Shradars. And this is the story of our adoption journey… but really its our family journey. We are thrilled that you have decided to join us!

In 2009 our spunky, beautiful red-head, Iona, was born. And in 2012 Ewen, our bright-eyed snuggler entered the world. We thank God for these amazing kiddos. They continue to fill our hearts with so much joy. But since the beginning of our relationship Jonathan and I had also talked and prayed about building our family through adoption. This decision came primarily from our love for Jesus Christ and the fact that we are so grateful to have been adopted into His family.

Ephesians 1: 4-8 For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love he predestined us for adoption to sonship through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will— to the praise of his glorious grace, which he has freely given us in the One he loves. In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace that he lavished on us.

He has given us a heart for orphans and we cannot ignore the call to share our world and our love with a little one that needed to know the love of a family and, more importantly, the unending love of the heavenly father.

I can tell you that adoption in any form is absolutely worth it!!! Just look at our beautiful chaos!

  1. Great post! We have quite a few things in common. We both love Jesus and we adopted twin boys, with special needs from Ukraine when they were 2 yrs. 9 months and they’re 17 yrs. old now! We also know that the Lord wanted us to adopt and he led us to Ukraine. We’ll be praying for your family, regarding the adoption! God Bless!
