That phrase means so much more to me this year. It is about a mighty God that became like us so he could rescue us… so he could adopt us as his very own.
It has been such a wonderful Advent and Christmas season. I don’t want to see it end, but I have experienced it in such a new way this year. Advent is all about anticipation. God’s people waited many generations for the Promised One. With tears and heartache they waited.
This year I wait… I think of my girl in an orphanage this Christmas and weep and pray that there is someone there to love on her and whisper the sweet story of Jesus’ birth to her. As we celebrated with our kids I couldn’t help but notice there was someone missing… oh what a joy it will be to see her precious little face as she opens presents with us some day, as she sits with us to hear the Christmas story.
But for now we wait… with great anticipation of what God is going to do, we wait.
